Stephen Powell is an actor based in New York City. He has worked on many stages in and around the metro area, including the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and Paradise Factory in the Village, Theatre 54 and the Producer's Club in Times Square, and the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. He has been fortunate to perform in readings and workshops with both writers and directors trained through NYU and Columbia graduate programs, as well as on readings with the writer's group Woodstock Fringe Playwrights Unit. Since beginning his career, he has spent every summer upstate at Theater Barn's Summer Season, performing in the two plays that kick off their season-long program.

A Miami native, product of Cuban, Italian and American-mutt roots, and graduate of the Summer Conservatory at Stella Adler Studio in Manhattan, Stephen was not always a professional actor. Once upon a time, he graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. While working in Boston, he first realized his passion for acting through local community theaters. After a year, he decided to make a proper career of it and moved to NYC like so many before him.
